2023 Super Bowl Updates and Highlights
The Kansas City Chiefs overcame a halftime deficit to reign victorious over the Philadelphia Eagles with a final score of 38-35. This marked the third Super Bowl win for the Chiefs, and the second victory for head coach Andy Reid. Though they didn’t take home the Lombardi Trophy, the Eagles still put up some impressive numbers, including 374 total yards and four touchdowns from QB Jalen Hurts.
As with any big sporting event, the game wasn’t without controversy. This included everything from bad calls by the officiating staff to speculation that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes ankle injury was just a ploy. Not to be outdone by football, the real thriller of the night was the halftime performance by Rihanna during which she revealed her pregnancy with her second child.

Sunday, January 15th
- Following an emotional few weeks, the Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins and kept their playoff hopes alive. The final score was 34-31.
- The New York Giants faced off against the Minnesota Vikings in which the Giants ultimately bested their opponents 31-24.
- The Baltimore Ravens were unable to hold on against Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens were knocked out after a 17-24 loss.
Monday, January 16th
- The Dallas Cowboys, affectionately known by some as America’s team, took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs proved to be no match for the Cowboys with Dallas trouncing them 31-14.
Divisional Round
Saturday, January 21st and Sunday, January 22nd
The schedules for this event were published along with TV networks – NBC, Fox, CBS, and NFL +. The Divisional Round playoffs began on Saturday, January 21, and continued on Sunday. While the Giants vs. Eagles game was finished as soon as it began, the Jaguars vs. Chiefs game was hotly contested and provided a rollercoaster of emotions to start the weekend. On Sunday, there were two more games: the Cowboys vs. 49ers and the Bengals vs. Bills duel.
Jaguars vs. Chiefs
You might have thought the Chiefs would easily defeat the Jaguars going into this game. That wasn’t the case because the game was tight. Patrick Mahomes passed for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-20 victory. With 98 yards and two touchdowns, TE Travis Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving. The Bengals will now square off against the Chiefs on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
Giants vs. Eagles
From their very first touchdown against the New York Giants, the Eagles dominated in every aspect of the game. Jalen Hurts, the Eagles’ quarterback, finished with 154 passing yards and two touchdowns. Running back Miles Sanders added 90 more yards to Kenneth Gainewell’s 112 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Boston Scott and Hurts both added 32 rushing yards. The NFC Conference Championship Game will pit the Eagles against the 49ers.
Bills vs. Bengals
In their victory over the Buffalo Bills, the Cincinnati Bengals dominated. They never looked back after taking the initial lead in the game. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow completed 23 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Joe Mixon led the club with 105 rushing yards and a score. With 61 receiving yards, WR Ja’Marr Chase was the top receiver. The AFC Conference Championship game between the Bengals and Chiefs will take place in Kansas City the following weekend.
49ers vs. Cowboys
The Cowboys and 49ers battled in a close game, but in the end, the 49ers continued to defy the odds and made it to the Conference Championship game. For a rookie quarterback and last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Brock Purdy of the 49ers is doing remarkably well, going 7-0 in his previous seven starts. Tight end George Kittle hauled in 95 yards in the air and finished the game with 214 passing yards. With 51 yards gained, running back Elijah Mitchell was the top rusher. The 49ers will be up against the Eagles in the NFC Conference Championship Game.

2023 Pro Bowl Updates and Highlights
The 2023 Pro Bowl was full of fun and excitement, including flag football games coached by quarterbacks, brothers, and NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning. The NFC squad, coached by Eli with Kirk Cousins at QB, edged out Peyton’s AFC team in the final flag football match. The AFC squad had previously won three of the first four skills competitions. The flag football games also showcased another elite brotherly match-up with Trevon Diggs playing against older brother Stefon Diggs in the second game.
